Teach your kids Python (programming language)

The name is Theo. I'm a dad, an entrepreneur and in constant beta. I love learning new stuff and helping out when I can. So don't be a stranger, reach out to me!

Looking for something to do with your child that will come in handy for them in the future? Here is an idea: Teach them coding!

Python is an easy-to-learn programming language that has some really useful features for a beginning programmer. The code is quite easy to read when compared to other programming languages. Python has some features that greatly augment the learning process and allow you to put together simple animations for creating your own games. One is the turtle module, inspired by Turtle graphics (used by the Logo programming language back in the 1960s) and designed for educational use.

Python for Kids is a simple website that teaches young ones some basic Python skills. Granted, their website is not super slick but their lessons are quite easy to follow. I would definitely throw an eye over it! Click on the image below.

Teaching kids how to code is important

First of all, coding is now an integral part of the kids’ curriculum at school! That must mean something!

You’re well aware that technology is all around us. Needless to say that, down the line, employers will be looking for that skill before they employ your (by now adult) child. I mean, this is already happening! Let’s not forget that coding also develops problem solving skills in the child’s brain. Pretty handy I’d say!

There is tons of resources out there for everyone to learn how to code. A lot of them are free too!
